Please Don't Disturb My Child Anymore

Teacher, you really disturb my brown child and insult my family when you say things like:
"The baby daddy..."
"The mama..."
"The daddy..."
"They can't..."
"They never...."
"They didn't even show up."
"They don't have..."
"They never..."
"It's a shame that they haven't..."
"They're just too low...."
"They probably..."
"It's just sad that they..."
"I had to show them how to..."
"All they have to do is..."
"I don't know what else to do with them."
"I can't believe that they didn't know..."
"You would think that their parents would have..."
"They have too many kids and they need to stop having babies."
"The mama is slow too."
"It's a shame that they have never left the city."
"Something is not right about them."
"They can buy...but they can't even buy..."
"Aren't they just precious."
"I feel so sorry for them."
"They don't do that."
"If I don't do.....for them, their parents won't.....and they will......"
And trust me when I tell you that the list goes on.
Do me a favor. Choose your words wisely when you discuss my child and my family with your colleagues. If you thought differently about my family, it may not be so difficult for you to reach me for parent/teacher conferences. The words that you choose to use can either protect or disturb my brown child's future.
Keep that in mind.
Just Thinking,
Kisha Woodfork
